The End of General Support for VMWare vSphere 6.0
Well, it’s coming up quickly now. VMWare vSphere ESXi 6.0 will officially no longer be supported as of March 12, 2020.
Why should you update and maintain your vSphere environment?
The obvious ones are security and stability. If you are running VMs that have recent operating systems, then the later versions of vSphere are not only tested but optimized for these. Think Windows Server 2019.
What should you be using:
Both vSphere 6.5 and 6.7 have an end of support date of November 15, 2021. Unless your hardware can’t handle 6.7, we highly recommend the latest version. It is fast and stable. The HTML5 interface alone is worthy of the upgrade to the latest vCenter.
Stay safe. Stay productive. Consider upgrading your hosts while resources are available and answers are easy to find. Consult VMware’s best practice guides for the proper steps to follow and make sure to check your hardware’s compatibility.
